Vivian came to Safe Hands with broken bones and a broken spirit. When we found Vivian in one of our partner shelters, she was despondent, leaning into the wall as if she wanted to disappear. Her body was twisted wrong and her eyes were pools of sadness and pain.
With a little comfort, soft words, and a kind touch, this sweet and gentle soul began to believe that she mattered. She found hope. We loaded her into the van and brought her home to get the care she needed. Vivian had a dislocated hip and a large abdominal hernia caused by whatever trauma she had suffered. With Safe Hands, she is now pain free, smiling, and in her forever home!
Max
Max may have been skin and bones when he entered into Safe Hands but he was full of heart. Well below a healthy weight, Max was struggling to survive. He needed nutrients, medical care, and a second chance to make it.
With Safe Hands, Max received the love and care he needed to live his best life. Now Max's spirit, like his ears, have been uplifted by the promise of a fresh start and a forever home. Thanks to sponsors like you, Max will have a loving forever family!
Atticus
When Atticus' family moved, they left him behind. He was found by a neighbor - emaciated, infected, and dehydrated. He couldn’t stand straight and had lost all his hair. On his own, he might have only lived another day.
Just a couple months later, he’s one of the happiest dogs we’ve seen. His health is recovering and he knows that he’s loved. Safe Hands brought Atticus back from the brink and now he’ll have many more years of happy life with a loving forever family!
